UPDATE:  On July 7, 2007 we acquired footage at Historic Fort Wayne, Michigan:
We got some great shots that day of the Civil War encampment and reenactment and have put together a short video of the day's events, click on the image below to play!

The 4 minute clip has also been uploaded to a number of video sharing sites, so if you go to www.google.com (video), www.yahoo.com (video), and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHCtnn86QoU .  Just search for "Civil War Days 2007 Fort Wayne Michigan" you should find it along with lots of other great re-enactment videos from across the country.

Special thanks to the Historic Fort Wayne Coalition and the City of Detroit Recreation Department for planning and organizing such a great event.

In Production:  "The History of Michigan in the Civil War"
Our newest documentary, is in the research and writing stage.  We've accumulated many photographs and we're in production.  Look for a release in early Fall of 2007!   As of June, the script has been completed and the
majority of photographs have been selected.  We're planning a 3 day shoot at Gettysburg Battlefield, plus other
Civil War era battle sites and monuments.  In August, we're planning on shooting Civil War reenactment at
Huron City, Michigan.  There's been great response to our email inquiries to various Michigan historical societies and archives.  Thank you to those who have contributed to our project.  Keep checking back for more information as we get closer to finishing this newest documentary from Program Source International.

Program Source launches a new website:  www.michiganhistorylectures.com
Michigan History Lectures provides historical societies and program directors with a qualified and active list of speakers focusing on Michigan History and events in American History.  The website became active March 15th and currently lists nearly 100 topics.  The website has easy navigation to receive detailed topic descriptions, speaker profiles and contact information for speaker availability and fees. Topics range from:  Michigan's lumbering days and camp life, sunken ships, navigating the Great Lakes, the Chautauqua movement in Michigan, "Ballooning, blimps and the great airships", Researching your U.S. Heritage, Bay View Association history, history of Michigan's commercial fishing, the whaleback ships, Indian history of Michigan, maps for Genealogy (old, new and electronic), "Motorcars, Mansions and Melodies", the Orphan Train in Michigan, Mark Twain in Michigan, Woman's Suffrage in Michigan, the history of Music boxes, professional techniques for the Family Genealogist,  the Voyageurs of the French fur trade and finally, "Wood smoke and elbow grease...Michigan's culinary heritage". These are just some of the 100 topics currently available from  speakers/ historians listed.

New topics added to our the PSI Lecture Series:
"History & Legends...Greece, Turkey & the Islands"  Al Eicher traveled to over 50 locations in these countries visiting sites of the early civilizations.  He also traveled to the islands of Mykonos, Crete, Patmos, Petra and Santorini.  This lecture and visual presentation captures spectacular views of the ancient ruins, snow capped mountains and stories of Greek mythology.   Al shot 4 hours of documentary style video and over 800 digital photos.  The presentation has been edited into an 80 minute lecture giving the audience a front row seat, including the sights and sounds of cruising to the islands and climbing to the Acropolis sites of many old cities.  Experience the visual history and legends of Greece and Turkey.  Q & A follows! Call 248-333-2010 for booking information.

"When Mark Twain Came to Michigan" is a very special presentation which was developed after several years of research.  When PSI produced the 2000 documentary "The 600 Year History of Mackinac Island" we discovered that Mark Twain lectured at the Grand Hotel.  The search for information soon proved that he came here many times between 1868 and the late 1890's.  The lecture and visual presentation has over 150 photos of Mark Twain at his best as a lecturer, entertainer and family man.

"Traveling the Inside Passage to Alaska" presents a view of the last American frontier.  The lecture and presentation consists of a current and historic look at the sights and sounds along the 400 mile journey on the inside passage.  Al Eicher documented the 11 day experience and captured the wildlife view from the ship and the land tours at each of the ports of call.  Historic photo's of the Gold Rush days, whale sightings, salmon runs and seeing the glaciers makes this a real eye opener to the last American frontier.
